Our 44-Acre Organic Farm: What We Grow, Raise & Why
A walk around the homestead — the gardens, the dairy, the chickens, and the choices behind how we farm.
People ask what 44 acres actually looks like in practice. Here's the honest tour.
The gardens
About two acres are in intensive vegetable production — enough to feed our family year-round and share with neighbors. We grow organically, build soil with compost and cover crops, and rotate everything.
The dairy
Our small herd is the heart of the place. Fresh milk, butter, and cheese every week, and the manure that feeds the gardens. It's a closed loop, and that's the point.
The birds
Laying hens for eggs, plus seasonal meat birds. They follow the cows on pasture, cleaning up and fertilizing as they go.
Why organic
It's not about a label for us — it's about handing our kids healthy soil and clean food. We farm the way we'd want our food grown.
It's not a perfect system, and we're always learning. But it's real, it's ours, and it's a life we're grateful for every single day.
